KIA Soldbuch + EKM: Grenadier-Regiment 1052 (84. Infanterie-Division) in Netherlands, 1945

0,01

Original Soldbuch of Gefreiter Friedrich-Wilhelm Friedebold, who was Killed in Action in the area of Nijmegen, Netherlands on or around February 8, 1945 during Operation Veritable. He served with the 8. Kompanie/ Grenadier-Regiment 1052 of the 84. Infanterie-Division. He was 18 years when he was Killed in Action. Comes with several photographs and half of his Erkennungsmarke!

Little more is known about Friedrich Wilhelm Friedebold than that he was part of the German army as an Obergefreiter and had been listed as missing or killed since February 8, 1945, when he was 18 years old. The Report of the Nijmegen Municipal Police 224/29 mentions the excavation in 1946 of the remains of “T.W. Friedebold” in the garden of the Pensionaat Jonkerbosch (in a mass grave of German soldiers) with the further indication: “Obergefreiter V. 8759 D.W. St. Fus. HH.”. His remains were then reburied in a mass grave of German soldiers at the General Cemetery on the Graafseweg in Nijmegen. The final burial location of Friedrich Wilhelm Friedebold has been the German military cemetery in Ysselsteyn since 1950, due to a lack of clear identification among the unknown.
