Kapitän zur See Alfred-Karl-Smidt (30.08.1903 † 11.01.1984) earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on November 20, 1941 as Korvettenkapitän und Kommandant of Zerstörer “Z-27” and the Ritterkreuz on June 15, 1943 as Kapitän zur See und Kommandant of Zerstörer “Z-27″.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
