Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Artur Wanke. Oberstleutnant Artur Wanke (24.06.1901 in Idaweiche † 01.03.1987 in Celle) earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on January 19, 1942 as Major with II. Bataillon/ Infanterie-Regiment 7 and the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on October 25, 1943 as Oberstleutnant und Kommandeur of the Grenadier-Regiment 680 of the 333. Infanterie-Division.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
