Belgian Resistance Armband – MNB (Mouvement National Belge / Belgische Nationale Beweging) – WWII

Original Belgian Resistance armband of the Mouvement National Belge (MNB), known in Dutch as the Belgische Nationale Beweging, one of the principal resistance organizations active in occupied Belgium during the Second World War.

The armband is manufactured from light-colored cloth and features the hand-applied initials “MNB” flanking a centrally sewn Belgian tricolor. It retains its original period construction and bears an official purple control stamp, indicating wartime issue. The simple yet distinctive design reflects the improvised nature of many resistance insignia produced during the Liberation period.

Founded in 1940, the MNB developed into an important nationwide resistance movement engaged in intelligence gathering, clandestine publications, sabotage, the distribution of underground newspapers, and assisting Allied airmen and escaped prisoners. Its members played an active role during the liberation of Belgium in 1944.

A scarce and historically significant original Belgian Resistance armband, representing one of Belgium’s major wartime resistance organizations. An excellent addition to any collection of Belgian WWII militaria or resistance memorabilia.
