Belgian Resistance Armband – Nationale Koninklijke Beweging (NKB / MNR) – WWII
Original Belgian Resistance armband of the Nationale Koninklijke Beweging (NKB), known in French as the Mouvement National Royaliste (MNR). Constructed from woven Belgian tricolor cloth, this example was intended for wear by members of one of Belgium’s royalist resistance organizations during the Second World War.
The armband retains its original period construction and displays clear stitch marks indicating that the NKB/MNR insignia was once sewn to the front, a feature commonly encountered on original resistance armbands where the badge was removed after the war. The fabric shows honest wartime wear while remaining in untouched condition.
The Nationale Koninklijke Beweging was founded in 1940 as a royalist resistance movement loyal to King Leopold III. Its members were involved in intelligence gathering, clandestine publications, assisting Allied personnel, sabotage, and armed resistance against the German occupation. Following the Liberation in 1944, members of the organization participated in maintaining public order and supporting the restoration of Belgian authority.
A scarce and historically significant original Belgian Resistance artifact, representing one of Belgium’s principal royalist resistance movements. An excellent display piece for collectors of Belgian WWII militaria and resistance memorabilia.
