Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo (2x) plus Letter card of Eduard-Heinrich Kiver also known as Til Kiwe. Hauptmann Eduard-Heinrich Kiver (07.06.1915 in Aachen † 30.11.1995 in München) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on May 18, 1943 as Hauptmann und Chef of the 2. Kompanie/ Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung “Hermann Göring”.
After the war he changed his name to Tilman Kiwe and became an actor. He acted in many military movies playing German soldiers, as the film directors felt that his personal history gave him the feel for the parts. Among his notable parts in movies, he portrays the Luftwaffe pilot Hauptmann Hellmuth Lang in “The Longest Day” and as the guard Frick in “The Great Escape”.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
