Generalleutnant Fritz Bayerlein (14.01.1899 in Würzburg † 30.01.1970 in Würzburg) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on December 26, 1941 as Oberstleutnant und Chef des Generalstabes of the Deutsches Afrika Korps; the Eichenlaub on July 6, 1943 as Generalmajor und Deutscher Chef des Stabes of the 1. Italienisches Armee / Armee Afrika and the Schwertern on July 20, 1944 as Generalleutnant und Kommandeur of the Panzer-Lehr-Division. Extra unsigned photo added.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
