Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Fritz Steudel. Oberfeldwebel Fritz Steudel (27.04.1918 in Bitterfeld-Friedersdorf † 25.08.2004 in Rastede) earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on August 21, 1942 and the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on February 28, 1945 as Oberfeldwebel und Bordfunker in the Stabsstaffel der II./ Kampfgeschwader 53 “Legion Condor”.
Awarded in recognition of his high mission count achieved since the start of the war up until the last months of the war, where he participated in missions launching V-1 flying bombs from aircraft.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
