Hauptmann Gerhard Schöpfel (19.12.1912 in Erfurt † 17.05.2003 in Bergisch Gladbach-Refrath) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on September 11, 1940 as Hauptmann und Kommandeur of the III. Gruppe/ Jagdgeschwader 26 “Schlageter”. Size: 11,9×16,4cm.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
