Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Heinz Cramer. Major Heinz Cramer (24.05.1911 in Strasbourg †05.09.2003 in Hamburg) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on September 18, 1940 as Major und Kommandeur of the II. (K) Gruppe/ Lehrgeschwader 1.
Awarded for the successes of his Gruppe in the Norwegian Campaign, Battle of France and Battle of Britain. His Gruppe had sunk a total of 40000 GRT of enemy shipping by the time he was awarded the Knight’s Cross and had damaged many other ships as well (including a battleship during the Norwegian Campaign).
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
