Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Heinz Cramer. Major Heinz Cramer (24.05.1911 in Strasbourg † 05.09.2003 in Hamburg) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on September 18, 1940 as Major und Kommandeur of the II. (K) Gruppe/ Lehrgeschwader 1.
Awarded for the successes of his Gruppe in the Norwegian Campaign, Battle of France and Battle of Britain. His Gruppe had sunk a total of 40000 GRT of enemy shipping by the time he was awarded the Knight’s Cross and had damaged many other ships as well (including a battleship during the Norwegian Campaign).
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
