Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Hermann Plocher. Generalleutnant Hermann Plocher (05.01.1901 in Stuttgart † 08.12.1980 in Murrhardt) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on November 22, 1943 as Generalmajor und Chef des Generalstabes of the 4. Flieger-Division and the Eichenlaub on May 8, 1945 as Generalleutnant und Kommandeur of the 6. Fallschirmjäger-Division.

Awarded while in command of the 6. Fallschirmjäger-Division, specifically for the prevention of a breakthrough by the Canadian 5th Armoured Division to the Afsluitdijk thanks to the the heroic resistance of himself and his men.

 

Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
