Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Horst Zobel. Hauptmann Horst Zobel (06.05.1918 in Bromberg † 02.10.1999 in Tunesia) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on April 14, 1945 as Hauptmann and Kommandeur of the Panzer-Abteilung “Müncheberg” of the Panzer-Division “Müncheberg”. Zobel was awarded his Knight’s Cross for actions at the Seelow Heights, east of Berlin where his unit destroyed 59 Soviet tanks without a single German tank lost.

Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
