Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Karl Thiel. Wachtmeister Karl Thiel (23.12.1913 † 29.02.2004) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on August 8, 1944 as Unteroffizier und Geschutzführer of the 1. Batterie/ Artillerie-Regiment 217 of the 217. Infanterie-Division.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
