Original WWII German award certificate (Verleihungsurkunde) for the Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern (War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords), awarded to Hauptmann Hans-Jochen Meyer.

The certificate is dated Hannover, 20 April 1943, and was issued by the Deputy Commanding General and Commander of Military District XI (Der stellv. Kommandierende General und Befehlshaber im Wehrkreis XI).

The document names General der Infanterie Schubert as the responsible commanding general. At the lower right is a handwritten signature under Für die Richtigkeit (“certifying the correctness”), with the signatory’s printed rank given as Oberstleutnant. This is distinct from the printed name of General Schubert and should not be confused with his signature.

The certificate also features an official circular military service seal and handwritten award-list reference numbers. Its formal double-line border and clearly printed text make it an attractive example of a Wehrmacht award document from 1943.

Condition: Two punched filing holes along the left margin, light age-related discoloration and minor marks, with the paper otherwise presenting well. The handwritten certification signature and official seal are visible. Please inspect the photographs for the exact condition.
