RADwJ Jungführerin Rank Brooch – Bronze
€75,00
An example of a Jungführerin rank brooch of the Reichsarbeitsdienst der weiblichen Jugend (RADwJ), the Reich Labour Service for Female Youth, dating from the Second World War.
The obverse features the characteristic mobile swastika, flanked by two wheat sheaves, within a circular central design. The brooch has a smooth, bronze-coloured outer rim, consistent with the insignia worn by a Jungführerin under the RADwJ rank system introduced in October 1939.
The reverse is fitted with a horizontal pin fastening. No maker’s mark is.
Historical Background
The RADwJ was the female branch of the German Reich Labour Service. Its members undertook agricultural, domestic and social support work, while the organisation also served the ideological objectives of the Nazi state. Its rank brooches distinguished leadership levels through their metal colour and rim design. The smooth bronze-coloured rim is consistent with the Jungführerin rank.
Condition
The brooch shows noticeable age-related wear, with surface tarnishing, oxidation and areas of discolouration. The central design remains clearly visible. The reverse pin assembly appears present, with visible wear and oxidation. Please examine the photographs carefully for the full condition.
