SS-Oberscharführer Richard Rudolf (16.04.1923 † 13.12.2004) earned the Ritterkreuz on November 8, 1944 as SS-Oberscharführer und Zugführer in the 9. Kompanie/ SS-Panzer-Regiment 12 of the 12. SS-Panzer-Division “Hitlerjugend”. He was awarded the Knight’s Cross for his bravery in the Battle of Normandy fighting at the Carpiquet airfield just outside of Caen.
