Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Rolf Pauls. Major im Generalstab Rolf Pauls (26.08.1915 in Eckartsberga † 04.05.2002 in Bonn) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on November 18, 1944 as Major im Generalstab und Ia of the 363. Volksgrenadier-Division.
After the Second World war, Rolf Pauls became the first West-German ambassador in Israel, followed by a post as ambassador in the United States and finally the first West German ambassador in the Peoples Republic of China.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
