Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photocopy of Rudi Schmidt. Major Rudi Schmidt (15.03.1914 † 23.02.2000) earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on August 13, 1942 as Oberleutnant in the 6. Staffel/ Kampfgeschwader 26 “Löwen” and the Ritterkreuz on March 28, 1945 as Hauptmann und Kommandeur of the II. Gruppe/ Kampfgeschwader 26 “Löwen”.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
