Authentic Wartime Set of Letters, Death Cards and Documents of Leutnant Heinz Berwanger. Leutnant Heinz Berwanger served in the 2. Batterie/ Heeres-Flak-Abteilung 312 (incorporated into the IV. Abteilung/ Artillerie-Regiment 3 of the 3. Infanterie-Division, which was later destroyed in Stalingrad) when he was Killed in Action by a bullet to the head near Punkt 129,6 nördlich Stalingrad (12 km from Stalingrad) on September 5, 1942. Not long before, he got engaged with his fiancé in June 1942. According to one of the letters sent to this wife by his Abteilungs-Kommandeur, he took part in the fightings at or near Woronesch, Kaletsch and Stalingrad where he stood out as a exemplary officer in severe attack and defense battles against heavy enemy tanks. He at least earned the Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse and other awards.
