Original Soldbuch of Hauptfeldwebel Breitenstein, born in 1903, who served with the 7. Kompanie/ Landwehr-Infanterie-Regiment 182, 7. Kompanie/ Infanterie-Regiment 358, 1. Kompanie/ Infanterie-Ausbildungs-Bataillon 838, 4. (MG) Kompanie & 8. Kompanie/ Reserve-Grenadier-Bataillon 470, Sicherungs-Bataillon 314 (later renamed to Sicherungs-Bataillon 1075). Not much is known of these latewar Sicherungs-Bataillons, but apparently unit was stationed in the Eifel. He was equipped with the Polish P35 sidearm.
During his service, he earned the Deutsche Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen, Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern, Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42, Dienstauszeichnung für 4. u. 12 Jahr Dienstzeit and on February 27, 1945 he was awarded both the Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse and Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber. Complete with top photo. Condition as seen.
