Interesting entries: Next to a Rifle, he was also equipped with the Maschinenpistole 40 (MP40) on April 18, 1941. Also an unusual entries, is that he received a complete bicycle (Fahrrad vollständig) on April 25, 1941 and a Thermosflasche on October 5, 1942!
Hospital entries: In December 1939, he suffered an illness of his Blindedarm (Appendix). Later on June 3, 1940 (so likely he suffered his wound earlier) he was hospitalized in Reserve-Lazarett Göttingen for a Schussverletzung des Oberschenkels (Gunshot wound to the thigh) and discharged to the Genesungs-Kompanie of the Pionier-Ersatz-Bataillon 1 (noted that he served with this unit from 10.6.40 to 25.7.40). On 27.8.40, he went to the Kriegslazarett 1/164 for an Augenverletzung links (wound left-eye) and in 1942 (dates difficult to read), he seems to have suffered from Akute Diphterie / Nephritis.
