Interesting original three-piece document grouping associated with Obergefreiter Gerhard Knorn, who served with Sanitäts-Kompanie 1/61.

The grouping includes:

1. Besitzzeugnis zum Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz (Certificate for the Black Wound Badge)

Awarded to Obergefreiter Gerhard Knorn for his first wound, sustained on 12 September 1944. The certificate records his unit as Sanitäts-Kompanie 1/61 of the 11. Panzer-Division and is dated 17 October 1944, issued at a divisional headquarters. It bears an original signature and official medical service stamp.

2. Personalausweis für den Sanitätsdienst (Medical Service Identity Card)

Identity document authorising its holder to serve in the medical service as a Krankenträger (medical stretcher-bearer). It records the date of birth as 22 June 1921 and authorises the wearing of the Geneva Convention medical armband, identifying the bearer as protected medical personnel under Article 9 of the Geneva Convention of 27 July 1929.

3. DDT-Merkblatt (DDT Instruction Leaflet)

Original multilingual instruction leaflet in English and French explaining the use of DDT powder to treat clothing and prevent lice infestation and typhus. An interesting accompanying piece illustrating wartime and immediate post-war military hygiene and delousing procedures.

A particularly appealing grouping combining a named Wehrmacht wound-badge award certificate with medical-service identification and a contemporary hygiene instruction leaflet.

Condition: Documents show typical age-related wear, folds, handling marks and some discoloration. The award certificate retains its original stamp and signature. All three pieces are included.
