Hauptmann Walter Max (21.12.1917 in Deutsch-Krone † 17.11.2004 in Bad Bevensen) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on December 18, 1942 as Oberleutnant und Chef of the 9. Kompanie/ Grenadier-Regiment 174 and the Eichenlaub on February 22, 1944 as Hauptmann und Kommandeur of the II. Bataillon/ Grenadier-Regiment 174 of the 81. Infanterie-Division.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
