Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Walter Schmidt. SS-Obersturmbannführer Walter Schmidt (28.01.1917 † 28.07.2000) earned the Ritterkreuz on August 4, 1943 as SS-Hauptsturmführer und Kommandeur of the III. Bataillon/ SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment “Westland” and the Eichenlaub on May 14, 1944 as SS-Hauptsturmführer und und Kommandeur of the III. Bataillon/ SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment “Westland” of the 5. SS-Panzer-Division “Wiking”. Good condition. Signed to the W-SS veteran who collected this signature.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
