Wehrmacht Soldbuch & EK2 Award Document Grouping – Infanterie-Regiment 526 (298. Infanterie-Division)
Original Wehrmacht grouping consisting of a wartime Soldbuch and matching Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse (EK2) award document belonging to Gefreiter Stanislaus Otolla of 12./Infanterie-Regiment 526, part of 298. Infanterie-Division. During his service, he earned the Eiserens Kreuz 2. Klasse and the Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42.

The Soldbuch contains various unit entries, equipment issue records, leave entries, and hospital-related entries.
Particularly interesting is a medical entry dated april 1942, noting frostbite to both feet (Erfrierungen beiden Füßen). This strongly suggests Otolla suffered serious cold-weather injuries and may no longer have been fully fit for frontline combat afterward.
The Soldbuch appears to have never had a photo in it, there only seems to be some traces of paper residue (perhaps papers there was no photo available or in it), since there4 are no traces of stamps.
The included EK2 award document is named to: Gefreiter Stanislaus Otolla of the 12./Infanterie-Regiment 526. Dated 2 October 1941, the document bears the signature of General der Infanterie Walther Gräßner, commander of 298. Infanterie-Division.
