He was Killed in Action on September 3, 1943 near Borki by a “Panzerbüchse-geschütz Kopf” (hit by Panzerbüchse in the head) and earned the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz (2x entered for 20.1.42 & 25.1.43 ?), Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42 & the Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse. He got wounded on December 15, 1942 during the attempt to penetrate the Stalingrad pocket. He was trained as a ‘Richtkanonier’. Good condition.
