Oberleutnant Werner Oberländer (16.12.1912 † 12.10.1996) earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on July 10, 1942 as Leutnant in the 2. Staffel/ Kampfgeschwader 55 “Greif” and the Ritterkreuz on March 24, 1943 as Oberleutnant und Flugzeugführer in the 2. Staffel/ Kampfgeschwader 55 “Greif”. Good condition. Measuring: 8,8×12,7cm. Comes with an extra signed letter.
Knight’s Cross: “Awarded in recognition of his total of 263 bomber sorties flown, during which he achieved his greatest operational success on the Eastern front. Here he distinguished himself, among other things, by scoring several direct hits on Rostov’s railway station (19.07.1942), placing a direct hit on an engine factory in Stalingrad (25.08.1942) and by striking against shipping on the Wolga.”
