Original Imperial German Besitz-Zeugnis für das Verwundetenabzeichen (Wound Badge Certificate), issued by the Königliches Bezirkskommando Lüneburg during the final months of the First World War.
The certificate documents the award of the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz (Wound Badge in Black) for one wound sustained in service.
The recipient’s handwritten name appears to read Musketier Ludwig Heinemann. His date of birth is recorded as 7. Juli 1886, with Heimbach appearing as his place of birth or residence (handwritten details are not entirely clear).
Dated 17. Oktober 1918, the document bears the original handwritten entries and the signature of the responsible Oberst und Kommandeur, together with the printed designation of the Royal District Command.
The certificate features an attractive traditional black-and-white design with the Imperial German helmet and oak-leaf wreath motif. A desirable original piece of First World War award documentation, particularly for collectors of Imperial German wound badges and regional military documents.
Condition
Noticeable age-related wear, including a pronounced horizontal fold across the centre, additional creasing, small edge tears and minor staining. The printed design and handwritten entries remain clearly visible.
