Original Imperial German Besitz-Zeugnis für das Verwundetenabzeichen (Wound Badge Certificate), issued by the Bezirkskommando Waren in the aftermath of the First World War.

The certificate documents the award of the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz (Wound Badge in Black) for one wound sustained during military service.

Issued to Franz Bischof, born 13. März 1897, with Petrow recorded as his place of birth or residence. His military designation is handwritten above his name.

Dated 13. Juni 1919, the certificate retains its original handwritten entries, official district-command stamp and handwritten certification by the responsible Oberst z. D. und Bezirks-Kommandeur.

An interesting post-war issue of an Imperial German award document, reflecting the continued administration of wound-badge awards after the November 1918 armistice. The combination of its 1919 date, regional issuing authority and original handwritten recipient details makes it a worthwhile addition to a collection of Imperial German awards and First World War memorabilia.

Condition

Age-related toning and spotting, with a pronounced horizontal fold across the centre, additional creasing and minor edge wear. Two punched holes along the left margin. The printed design and handwritten details remain clearly visible; the official stamp is somewhat faded.
