Original WWII German Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz (Wound Badge in Black) award document grouping belonging to Gefreiter Gerhard Harm of 6./Grenadier-Regiment 74, accompanied by two original wartime photographs and a battlefield-recovered piece of shrapnel reportedly associated with the recipient’s combat wound.

The award document (Besitzzeugnis) states that Gefreiter Harm suffered a wound on 5 July 1943 and was awarded the Wound Badge in Black on 15 July 1943. The award was issued through Reserve-Lazarett VI Wien (Vienna) during his recovery and bears the original hospital stamp and signature.

Included in the group are:

  • The original Wound Badge award document.
  • An original portrait photograph of Gefreiter Harm in Wehrmacht uniform, clearly wearing his Wound Badge.
  • A second wartime snapshot showing the soldier in a tropical setting during military service.
  • A small piece of wartime shrapnel that accompanied the grouping and is believed to be connected to the wound for which the award was granted.
