Original framed authentic signed postcard of SS-Obergruppenführer Wilhelm Reinhardt. Wilhelm Reinhard (18 March 1869 – 18 January 1955) was a long-serving German military officer who held positions in the Royal Prussian Army, the Reichswehr, and later in the Wehrmacht. He also joined the NSDAP and rose to the rank of SS-Obergruppenführer, serving as an administrative rather than operational figure—he held no direct command within the SS. He was a member of the Reichstag and, from 1934 to 1943, led the Kyffhäuserbund, a major veterans’ association in Nazi Germany, which was later disbanded in 1945. After the war, Reinhard reestablished the veterans’ group in West Germany and led it until his death in 1955. Condition as seen. Bit faded bit still visible.

Knight's Cross: “Early on the 10.12.1944 SS-Obersturmführer Lipinski, Batterie-Führer in the Flak-Abteilung 18, prevented a breakthrough by 22 enemy tanks into the deep flank of the IV. Panzer-Korps. At the time he was providing flank protection from the village of Szecseny. During the enemy attack he personally shot up 6 T-34s in the space of 50 minutes. Through his brave conduct he inspired the rest of his Batterie to act likewise, despite the fact that some of them had wanted to abandon the position. This resulted in the destruction of a further 7 tanks by his men. This deed by SS-Obersturmführer Lipinski was of decisive importance insofar as he prevented the seizure of Sczecseny (located in the deep flank of the Korps) and thereby the cutting off of several German units. In addition to this, SS-Obersturmführer Lipinski also personally destroyed another 2 T-34s near Jaszbereny (Hungary) on the 15.11.1944.”

Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo & Letter of Friedrich “Fritz” Henke. SS-Hauptscharführer Friedrich “Fritz” Henke (06.01.1921 † 15.11.1999) earned the Ritterkreuz on February 12, 1944 as SS-Oberscharführer und Zugführer in the 3. Batterie/ SS-Sturmgeschütz-Abteilung 1 “LSSAH”. Fritz Henke was a platoon leader in the StuG battalion of the LSSAH in late 1943. Near the end of that year, on the 29.12.1943, Henke was helping protect a group of friendly infantry when a small tank attack was launched. He destroyed 2 tanks, but this initial incursion was soon followed up by a much heavier assault. Thus followed a fierce battle that lasted the whole day. On one occasion, he knocked out a Soviet command tank from which the enemy commander escaped, only to be hit by a pistol shot by Henke. By the end of the day he had destroyed a total of 21 tanks and 11 AT guns. For his notable success, without much friendly support at that, he was later presented with the Knight’s Cross. He had destroyed 38 tanks in total by this time.

SS-Panzer-Korps, he was severely wounded near Trun in the Falaise Pocket. His injuries included bullet wounds to the head, lung, and pelvis. He was subsequently captured by British forces on 19 August 1944 and became a prisoner of war. He survived the war but tragically died in a car accident in Tyrol on 2 October 1978.

At the end of April 1945 Walter Pitsch took over the command of his Kompanie after all of its self-propelled 3.7 cm AA guns had been lost. During this time, in which the Kompanie was now employed in the infantry role, the unit managed to thwart an enemy penetration near the Mariazell-Hohenberg (in the Alps). Pitsch, leading at the head of the Kompanie, threw the Soviets back from their gains and held the position thereafter. The retention of this position was of great importance in covering the retreat of the Division, and Pitsch would be recommended for the Knight’s Cross in recognition of his success here. Ritterkreuz: “Following heavy retreat battles, on the night of the 25./26.07.1944 the Tannenberg Line between Orphanage Hill and the Gulf of Finland was occupied by the Regiment 49 ‘De Ruyter’. The Regiment had the mission of holding this line against all enemy attacks. The enemy commenced an immediate assault with a much greater number of divisions, which were aided by strong tank, artillery and air support. In a sacrificial battle, the Regiment succeeded in defeating all enemy attacks with extremely high losses for the foe. In this major struggle the commander of the Regiment, SS-Obersturmbannführer Collani, fell in battle. In this moment of crisis his adjutant, SS-Hauptsturmführer Ertel, took over leadership of the Regiment. Undeterred by the strong enemy fire from tanks, rocket launchers, artillery and aircraft, he repeatedly went to the hotspots of the fighting. From these points he inspired officers, NCOs and men to offer up their greatest possible resistance via his own exemplary behaviour. Even after being wounded by a shell splinter to the face he remained with the Regiment and maintained a firm grip over its command. His crisis-proof, exemplary attitude was of immeasurable value to the Brigade in the hours of its greatest test on the battlefield. He significantly contributed to the prevention of the intended enemy breakthrough against Reval.”

Otto Günsche – Adolf Hitler’s Personal Adjutant (WIA 20 July Plot, Führerbunker)

Juli 1944” in Schwarz and was a member of the Leibstandarte-SS Adolf Hitler before he became Adolf Hitler’s personal adjutant. Comes with extra letter. Condition as seen. Postcardsize. With the end of Nazi Germany imminent, Günsche was tasked by Hitler on 30 April 1945 with ensuring the cremation of his body after his death. That afternoon, he stood guard outside the room in the Führerbunker where Hitler and Eva Braun committed suicide. After waiting a short time, Hitler’s valet, Heinz Linge, opened the study door with Martin Bormann at his side. The two men entered the study with Günsche right behind them. Günsche then left the study and announced that Hitler was dead to a group in the briefing room, which included Joseph Goebbels, General Hans Krebs, and General Wilhelm Burgdorf. Günsche had the table and chairs in the study moved out of the way and blankets were laid out on the floor. Hitler and Braun’s lifeless bodies were then wrapped in blankets. In accordance with Hitler’s prior written and verbal instructions, his and Braun’s bodies were carried up the stairs and through the bunker’s emergency exit to the garden behind the Reich Chancellery to be burned. Having ensured that the corpses were burnt using petrol supplied by Hitler’s chauffeur Erich Kempka, Günsche later left the Führerbunker after midnight on 1 May. On 2 May 1945, Günsche was taken prisoner by Soviet Red Army troops that were encircling the city and flown to Moscow for sharp interrogation by the NKVD.

On 27 June 1944 (…) in a night attack, Siegel gained ground to the north and thwarted the advance of enemy armour to the south. Siegel held his positions without any infantry support and despite extremely heavy gunfire. While positioning and briefing his men, he was surprised in the dark of night by an enemy patrol. In the hand-to-hand fighting that resulted, he was stabbed in the right side. Nevertheless, he was able to repulse the enemy and hold his position. The next morning the enemy renewed their attack. Siegel fought with his tank to the last, making it possible to bring up new forces and thereby prevent a decisive British breakthrough. In so doing, Siegel’s tank was knocked out from under him for the fifth time and he suffered extremely severe burns.”

Through this Eichhorn has exhibited an example of the highest devotion to duty, and through his independent actions he once again brought the important road/railway junction firmly under friendly control. Over 700 enemy dead were counted. 5 artillery pieces, 3 heavy anti-tank guns, 1 heavy AA gun, 8 anti-tank rifles, 22 MGs, numerous small arms and 30 horse-drawn wagons were also captured.”
