Price revealed when Early Access opens.
Original Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse 1939 (Iron Cross 1st Class) manufactured by Funcke & Brüninghaus, Lüdenscheid, with the maker’s code L/56 stamped on the reverse screwback disc.
This example features a blackened iron core and a silver-coloured frame with the characteristic ribbed inner border. The obverse retains a very attractive appearance, with strong detail and much of the original finish remaining. The reverse is fitted with its original-style screwback disc, bearing the L/56 maker’s mark.
The Schraubscheiben-Ausführung (screwback version) is an alternative to the more commonly encountered pin-back configuration and is sought after by collectors of German military decorations.
Condition: Near Mint. The front displays well, while the reverse screwback disc shows noticeable oxidation, staining and areas of finish loss. Please examine the photographs carefully for the exact condition.
An attractive maker-marked Iron Cross 1st Class (L/56) for a collection of German military decorations from the Second World War.
Please study all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
