Original NSDAP Amt für Volkswohlfahrt Ausweis (NSDAP Office for People’s Welfare Identification Card) issued to Barbara Dietrich, resident of Wetzlar, Germany, in September 1944.

This interesting late-war document, numbered 114, entitled the holder to preferential service when shopping in retail stores (bevorzugte Abfertigung in Einzelhandelsgeschäften). The card was valid from 1 September to 31 October 1944 and records her address as Geleitsberg 16, Wetzlar.

The card features a period photographic portrait of the holder, handwritten personal details, an official stamp and an authorising signature. The Ortsgruppe designation has been crossed out and amended, adding an interesting administrative detail to the document.

An unusual piece of civilian and party-related ephemera from the final year of the Third Reich, illustrating the local administration of shopping privileges during wartime Germany.

Condition: Heavily worn, with substantial edge damage, tears, creases, paper loss and discolouration. The portrait photograph and most of the printed and handwritten information remain visible. Please examine the photographs carefully.

A distinctive original paper collectible for specialists in NSDAP-related documents, wartime civilian administration and Wetzlar local history.
