Kompanie/ Grenadier-Regiment 578 of the 305. Infanterie-Division.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
Original Award document of Oberzahlmeister Banholzer, who served with the Stab der I./ Infanterie-Regiment 578 of the 305. Infanterie-Division (which was destroyed in Stalingrad!) for the Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern (War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords) for his service on December 20, 1941. Document was signed by Generalmajor Kurt Pflugradt. Has been folded in the past.
