Ausweiskarte for the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität of Gerhard Etzold. Oberleutnant Gerhard Etzold (17.03.1910 † 06.05.1941) earned the Ritterkreuz on June 3, 1940 as Oberleutnant und Zugführer in the 5. Kompanie/ Kradschützen-Bataillon 8 of the 8. Panzer-Division. Good Condition.
Knight's Cross: “… He achieved particular successes during the battles of a Panzer-Division with his motorcycle troops. On the 19.05.1940 he eliminated 8 enemy tanks, 2 batteries and an English battalion, among which was part of the French 9th Army’s staff. During all this time he showed exemplary courage and outstanding prudence.”
