Award document of Zivilangestellter Saeger from Berlin for the Kriegsverdienstkreuzkreuz 2. Klasse ohne Schwertern (War Merit Cross 2nd Class without Swords). Awarded in September 1942! Document is A4 size, bears the facismile signature of Adolf Hitler and Otto Meissner.

SS-Obersturmbannführer Paul-Albert Kausch (03.03.1911 in Jädersdorf † 27.10.2001 in Ingelheim) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on August 23, 1944 as SS-Obersturmbannführer und Kommandeur of the SS-Panzer-Abteilung 11 “Hermann von Salza” and the Eichenlaub on April 23, 1945 as SS-Obersturmbannführer und Kommandeur of the SS-Panzer-Regiment 11 “Hermann von Salza” of the 11. SS-Freiwilligen-Panzergrenadier-Division “Nordland“. Small size.
Oakleaves: Awarded for his leadership of the SS-Panzer-Regiment 11 during the final battles around Berlin. In the fighting east of and inside the city the unit destroyed 487 enemy tanks and was the backbone of many defensive battles, such as that on the 18.04.1945 west of Reichenberg (6 km north of Buckow). Here, out of a force of 70 Soviet tanks attacking from the Ringenwalde area, 50 were destroyed.

Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Maximilian Reichsfreiherr von Edelsheim. General der Panzertruppe Maximilian von Edelsheim (06.07.1887 in Berlin † 26.04.1994 in Constance) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on July 30, 1941 as Oberstleutnant und Kommandeur of Radfahr-Abteilung 1 of the 1. Kavallerie-Division, the Eichenlaub on December 23, 1942 as Oberst und Kommandeurof the Panzergrenadier-Regiment 26 of the 24. Panzer-Division and the Schwertern on October 23, 1944 as Generalleutnant und Kommandeur of the 24. Panzer-Division. He earned the Eichenlaub during the Battle for Stalingrad! He was flown out of the pocket.
He negotiated the surrender of German forces to the Americans at the bridge at Tangermünde on the Elbe River on or about May 2, 1945. The German 12th Army, under General Walther Wenck had previously done a 180 degree turn away from the Western Allies, resulting from an order to relieve Berlin from the Soviet attack. Disobeying the order, Wenck fought due East, into the Spree Forest region, toward the town of Halbe and linked up with the remnants of the German 9th Army. They then reversed and went west, back to the Elbe. Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo plus Letter of Nicolaus von Below. Oberst Nicolaus von Below (20.09.1907 † 24.07.1983) was an officer in the Luftwaffe and an Adjutant of Adolf Hitler.
On 29 April, after the wedding of Hitler and Braun, Below was a witness to the last will and testament of Adolf Hitler. He did not sign the Political Testament but added his signature to the Private Testament of the document. Thereafter, Below asked Hitler if he could leave the Führerbunker and attempt to make it out of Berlin to the west. Hitler granted him permission to leave. Scarce Postwar Signature of Wilhelm Mohnke, who earned the Knight’s Cross as Commander of SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 26 of the 12. SS-Panzer-Division “Hitlerjugend”. Postcardsize.
Mohnke was one of the original members of the SS-Staff Guard (Stabswache) “Berlin” formed in March 1933. From those ranks, Mohnke rose to become one of Adolf Hitler’s last remaining generals. He joined the Nazi Party in September 1931. With the SS Division Leibstandarte, Mohnke participated in the fighting in France, Poland and the Balkans. He was appointed to command a regiment in the SS Division Hitlerjugend in 1943. He led the unit in the Battle for Caen, receiving the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross on 11 July 1944. Mohnke was given command of his original division, the Leibstandarte, during the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944. During the Battle of Berlin, Mohnke commanded the Kampfgruppe Mohnke and was charged with defending the Berlin government district, including the Reich Chancellery and the Reichstag. He was investigated after the war for war crimes, including allegations that he was responsible for the murder of prisoners in France in 1940, Normandy in June 1944 and Belgium in December 1944.
Scarce TN-Unterführer-Ausweis (Technische Nothilfe) ('Technical Emergency Help NCO ID') (Nr. III/206) of Fritz Krüger, who was a Zugwachtmeister der TN with TN-Abteilung 39 (II-Bereitschaft). The Bereitschaftdienst was used for readiness service used for aid during storms and natural disasters and alter used in war casualty relief. The ID was authorized on May 10, 1944 in Eichterfelde, bearing the signature (Oberst Schröder ?) of Der Landesführer der Technischen Nothilfe of Landesgruppe III, Berlin-Mark Brandenburg. Complete with a stunning photo in which he wears a collar tab “III/4”, meaning “Landesgruppe III (Berlin-Mark Brandenburg), Ortsgruppe 4 (Eberswalde). Interestingly, on the back, the ID bears two ‘Sichtmarke’ (missing in many cases) and a 6th rule was added giving him the right to wear a sidearm along with his uniform!
A very interesting late-war set of a young soldier, Horst Kandar. Horst Kandar first served as a Marinehelfer at the age of 16, during which he earned the Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse as a Einsatz-Truppmelder with the Marine-Flak-Abteilung 262 in Wilhelmshaven. According to a paperslip all of his paperwork was lost on November 3, 1943 when the Americans attacked the Wilhelmshaven harbor with a force of 21 groups totaling 539 aircraft!
On January 16, 1945, his Soldbuch was issued, while serving with the 4. Kompanie/ Ausbildungs-Bataillon (O.B.) der Luftwaffe. This Bataillon was formed at Oschatz (Luftkriegsschule 2). From March 16, 1945, he took part in a Fahnenjunker-Lehrgang at the Luftkriegsschule 2 (F.S.) and thus was promoted to Fahnenjunker. Soon after, on April 10, he was promoted to Gefreiter-Fahnenjunker. However, when the war came closer, the recruits were rushed into combat to halt the Allied advance. Thus on April 12, 1945 the Luftkriegsschule 2 was redesignated II. Bataillon/ Luftwaffen-Ausbildungs-Regiment 1 at Alt-Friedland. On April 14, 1945, young soldier Horst was now serving in the 8. Kompanie/ Luftwaffen-Ausbildungs-Regiment 1 of the Luftwaffen-Ausbildungs-Division 1. The Division fought at Wriezen-Eberwalde near Berlin. More than likely he too fought in the area of Altfriedland-Eberswalde near Berlin. According to the Soldbuch, - IMHO - this seems to be legit entry done in captivity - as noted -, that he earned the Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse & Luftwaffe-Erdkampfabzeichen during April 1945.
This set came together and will stay together.

Small tragic paper group of Obergefreiter Hermann Böning, who served with the Ergänzungsabteilung für Soldaten im Ingenieur Dienst der Luftwaffe Berlin-Adlershof when he was killed in an accident "Durch Bergunfall tödlich verüngluckt" on October 17, 1943. Comes with several condoleance cards, Deutsches Luftsport-Verband Flugbuch (continued with the NFSK!) with a ID of him in HJ uniform and two photos of his burial. Good condition.

SS-Hauptsturmführer Henri Fenet (11.07.1919 † 14.09.2002) earned the Ritterkreuz on April 29, 1945 as SS-Hauptsturmführer und Führer of the Sturm-Bataillon der 33. SS-Freiwillige-Grenadier-Division "Charlemagne". Henri Fenet was the sole French Waffen-SS Volunteer to be decorated with the Knight’s Cross. Good condition. Signed on the reverse, front is a print.
Knight’s Cross awarded for the outstanding leadership of his French volunteers during the final fighting for Berlin. Decoration presented by SS-Brigadeführer Mohnke in the Reichs Kanzlerei between 20th and 30th April 1945.
