Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Franz Schlund. Oberfeldwebel Franz Schlund (10.08.1913 in Leimen † 15.09.1995 in Leimen) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on August 30, 1941 as Oberfeldwebel und Bordfunker in the 4. Staffel/ Lehrgeschwader 1.
Awarded after flying about 220 sorties with future Swords holder Joachim Helbig, towards whose success he played a major part. He was the first radio operator in the Luftwaffe to be so decorated.
