Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Karl Herzog. Oberstleutnant Karl Herzog (06.07.1906 in Nuremberg † 25.01.1998 in Münich) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on April 17, 1945 as Oberstleutnant und Kommandeur of the Heeres-Sturm-Pionier-Brigade 627.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
Original Postwar Signature on a Wartime Postcard of Hans Mikosch. Oberstleutnant Hans Mikosch (07.01.1898 † 18.01.1993) earned the Ritterkreuz on May 21, 1940 as Oberstleutnant und Kommandeur of Pionier-Bataillon 51 and the Eichenlaub on March 6, 1943 as Oberst und Kommandeur of the Pionier-Regiment-Stab z.b.V. 677 und Führer eine Kampfgruppe in Stalin. Good condition.
Ritterkreuz: “Oberstleutnant Mikosch fearlessly led his Bataillon through fortified and toughly defended enemy positions in order to relieve the brave conquerors of Fort Eben-Emael. It was the successful completion of this deed which enabled the Fort to definitively come under our control.
