Deutsches Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen – 30 January 1945 – Rare Variant

Original German Verleihungsurkunde / Besitzzeugnis for the Deutsche Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen, awarded to Obergefreiten Robert Evers.

The document is dated 30 January 1945 and was issued from the Führer-Hauptquartier. The certificate states that the award was presented “für verdienstvolle Arbeit zum Schutze Deutschlands” — for meritorious work in the protection of Germany.

The Deutsche Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen was instituted in 1939 and was awarded to personnel who had contributed to the construction and fortification of the German defensive positions known as the Westwall.

Of particular interest is the very late date of 30 January 1945, only a few months before the end of the war. The certificate is also notable for its Führer-Hauptquartier dating and the prominent embossed official seal.

Condition

Original period certificate with a horizontal fold across the centre, light age-related toning and handling/storage wear. The paper remains intact, with the original printed text, handwritten date and embossed seal clearly visible.
