Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Winfried Schmidt. Hauptmann Winfried Schmidt (28.02.1915 in Köln † 02.08.1999 in Frechen) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on September 18, 1941 as Oberleutnant und Staffelkapitän of the 8. Staffel/ Jagdgeschwader 3 “Udet”.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
