WWII German Luftwaffe Soldbuch Grouping with Lappland Shield (Lapplandschild)

Interesting and attractive original WWII German Luftwaffe Soldbuch grouping belonging to  Obergefreiter Gerhard Haidorfer (?), born in 1920. The soldbuch was issued in 1940 and shows service with several Luftwaffe training and field units, including Fliegerausbildungsregiment 23, Flieger-Technische-Schule 3, later Fliegerhorst-Kompanie Ludwigsluft, 111. FBK and 36. Flugzeugverfugungskompanie 308. Interesting postwar paper pasted into the soldbuch from F.S.Koflug 24/III in August 1945 which also awarded him the Lapplandschild. Interestingly, he also had his own “Herstal” Pistol Nr. 183132.

The grouping includes an original Lappland Shield (Lapplandschild), still attached to the soldbuch. The shield retains its aluminum front with clear details and separate steel backing plate. A scarce and desirable campaign shield associated with German forces serving in Lapland / northern Finland.

The soldbuch contains numerous entries, stamps, unit transfers, equipment issue pages, vaccination records, leave entries, and wartime hospital-related notes. A particularly nice feature is the original portrait photo still present inside. The document remained in use through the end of the war, with late entries dated August 1945.

A very appealing and honest frontline-related Luftwaffe grouping with strong display value, combining an original soldbuch with an original Lappland Shield. Overall good used condition with normal wartime wear and age toning. Soldbuch is complete with photo.
