Soldbuch – Grenadier-Regimenter 481 & 476, Granatwerfer-Kompanie 256 – 256. Volksgrenadier-Division (Holland!) – MP 44

An extensively completed Soldbuch (Wehrmacht Military Pay Book) belonging to Feldwebel Dirschedl, documenting his military service, unit transfers, decorations, medical treatment and other personnel details throughout the Second World War.

The book contains entries relating to service with several formations, including Infanterie-Regiment 481, Grenadier-Regiment 481, Grenadier-Regiment 476, Artillerie-Regiment 256, schwere Granatwefer-Kompanie 256 of the 256. Volksgrenadier-Division (!) and Artillerie-Regiment 1316.

The recorded decorations include:

• Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse (Iron Cross 2nd Class) – 12 July 1941
• Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber (Infantry Assault Badge in Silver) – 15 December 1941
• Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz (Wound Badge in Black) – 21 January 1942
• Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42 (Eastern Front Medal) – entry dated 1 December 1942

A particularly interesting feature is the late-war equipment entry for MP 44, dated January 1945, as noted by the seller. Such weapon entries are of particular interest to collectors researching late-war German small arms and military documentation. Comparable Soldbücher with MP 44 entries have appeared on the collector market.

The Soldbuch also contains numerous unit, leave, medical and administrative entries, providing a detailed record of the soldier’s wartime service. The original portrait photograph has been removed.

Condition: Heavily used original period document, with age-related staining, discolouration, creasing, handwritten amendments, stamps and general wear. Please study all photographs carefully for the precise condition and individual entries.

An interesting and well-documented Wehrmacht Soldbuch with multiple recorded decorations, a varied service history and a notable late-war MP 44 equipment entry.
