€0,01Original Soldbuch of SS-Unterscharführer Herbert Prietz, who served with the SS-Panzer-Artillerie-Regiment 1 of the 1. SS-Panzer-Division “LSSAH”. He served onwards from Russia – Normandy – Battle of the Bulge – Hungary – Austria! He was captured on May 9, 1945.
He was issued a Tarnjacke (camo jacket) in November 1944! He earned the War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords, Iron Cross 2nd Class and the Sturmabzeichen fur schwere Waffen. He earned the Sturmabzeichen for the Battle of Normandy! He has at least 3 (confirmed) Close Combat Days in Saint-Lambert ! 4 other confirmed Close Combat Days are for Russia. There are also more Close Combat Days listed (in pencil) thought not confirmed by stamp or signature; thought it’s all the same writing so likely it was administration that was caught up late in the war. In pencil, there are 3 more close combat days for Normandy: 10.8, 13.8. & 16.8.44!
The Soldbuch ID photo was removed and there are also loose pages. Comes with an extra document listing more about his service (incl. HJ awards). Although no photograph, it’s a top LSSAH Normandy Soldbuch!

Lexikon der Wehrmacht describes what happened on that day: “9.4. (Ostersonntag) Verlust unsere letzten beiden „Eisbären“- Geschütze kurz vor Kesselausbruch durch russische Panzerbüchen bei Übergang in dichtem Waldgelände an der Strypa. Ihre mit Munition vollgepackten Kampfräume explodieren, 3 Tote, 5 Schwerverletzte: Pz.Fahrer Engelhardt Bäcker (stirbt später im Lazarett an seinen schweren Brandverletzungen), Ladekanonier Eckmann (schwere Fußverletzung), der zweite Gesch.Führer, Richt.-Uffz. und Pz.Fahrer.” Likely, he was on of the crew members that was Killed.

Soldbuch: SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 6 “Theodor Eicke” (KIA Warschau ’44!)

He earned the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz in August of 1943. He was Killed in Action (Died) on August 28, 1944 at Hauptverbandplatz Nordostl. Warschau during the Warwaw Uprising. The “Totenkopf” itself was not involved in the suppression of the uprising, instead guarding the front lines, and fighting off several Red Army probe attacks into the city’s eastern suburbs. Complete with a photograph in the Soldbuch!
Kurt Stolzenhahn his remains couldn’t be recovered. He is mentioned in the Memorial book of the War Cemetery Warsaw.
Soldbuch & Wehrpass: “LSSAH” & “Horst Wessel” (KIA in 1944!)

Apparently, he had an accident while serving with the weapon’s armory of the LSSAH and was later transfered to the “Horst Wessel” Division, where he was Killed in Action on November 13, 1944. Complete with a stunning picture in the Soldbuch. In total, there’s his Soldbuch, Wehrpass & Stammkarte!
Soldbuch & Wehrpass: SS-Gebirgs-Artillerie-Regiment 6 “Nord” (KIA April ’45)

He was awarded the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz for his wound suffered by Granatwerfer Splitter on October 5, 1944 in Finland. He sadly, wouldn’t survive the war, as he was Killed in Action on April 2, 1945 near Worms, Germany vs US Forces. The Soldbuch never had a picture in it. The Wehrpass seems to have suffered damage? Could it be damage from a bullet or splitter? It must have been something strong and fast to do that kind of damage.

Although, he’s listed in the DRK books, he died in Russian captivity in March 1945 (or was last seen alive on this date and died later, sometimes these dates of death were used when last seen alive if they didn’t have a correct date of death). This was confirmed by WASt that he died in captivity. Complete with a photo.
