Particularly interesting are the two silver-grey NCO-style braid loops (“Laschen”), identifying the wearer as an Offiziers-Anwärter (officer candidate).

Erwin Rommel – Generalfeldmarschall (Diamonds) (Wartime Signed)

€1.100,00

Original and excellent, scarce authentic wartime-signed postcard of Generalfeldmarschall Erwin Rommel, the famous German commander known as the “Desert Fox.” Postcard size.

The postcard bears an original wartime signature of Erwin Rommel, making this an attractive piece for collectors of WWII autographs, German military history and Rommel memorabilia. Authentic wartime Rommel signatures are highly sought after, particularly given the considerable number of reproductions and forged signatures encountered on the market.

Erwin Johannes Eugen Rommel (1891–1944) served in the Imperial German Army during WWI, the Reichswehr during the Weimar period and later the Wehrmacht. During WWII he commanded the 7. Panzer-Division, the German forces in North Africa and, from late 1943, Heeresgruppe B in Normandy. He became internationally known as the “Desert Fox” (Wüstenfuchs).

Details:

  • Original WWII period postcard
  • Signed by Erwin Rommel
  • Postcard size
  • Scarce and highly collectible

Panzer Soldbuch & Führerschein – Panzer-Abteilung 7 – MP40 – Photo in Panzer Uniform

€295,00

Interesting original WWII document grouping belonging to Georg Kubitz, comprising his original Wehrmacht Soldbuch and Wehrmacht-Führerschein, with documentation of service in several armoured formations and training establishments.

Kubitz’s early military career is particularly well documented. His Wehrmacht-Führerschein was issued in 1938 while serving with Panzer-Nachrichten-Abteilung 37, and retains his original photograph, signature and official stamps.

His Soldbuch subsequently records service with:

  • Panzer-Nachrichten-Abteilung 37
  • Lehrtruppe Panzer-Truppenschule Bergen
  • Panzer-Abteilung 7
  • Later service with additional formations recorded in the Soldbuch
  • Promotion to Unteroffizier

Particularly interesting is the recorded issue of an MP40, documented in the weapon/equipment section of the Soldbuch.

Kubitz was also awarded the Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938, the commemorative medal for the German occupation of the Sudetenland, adding an interesting pre-war element to the grouping.

Highlights

  • Original Wehrmacht Soldbuch
  • Original Wehrmacht-Führerschein, 1938
  • Early service with Panzer-Nachrichten-Abteilung 37
  • Lehrtruppe Panzer-Truppenschule Bergen
  • Panzer-Abteilung 7
  • Documented MP40 issue
  • Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938
  • Later promoted to Unteroffizier
  • Photograph in Panzer uniform

A very interesting and well-documented personal grouping, particularly attractive for collectors of early Wehrmacht, Panzer and communications units. The combination of a 1938 Wehrmacht driver’s licence, pre-war service, Panzer-Truppenschule documentation, Panzer-Abteilung 7 service and a recorded MP40 issue makes this a particularly characterful Soldbuch grouping.

  • Original wartime Beurteilung from Panzerjäger-Abteilung 178 (Sfl.), dated 23 October 1943, containing contemporary assessments of his character, physical/mental suitability, conduct and military performance.
  • British Control Form D.2 / Certificate of Discharge, providing postwar personal details and confirming his identity, birthplace, occupation and other information.

Particularly interesting is the combination of the wartime personnel documentation with the later Allied discharge document, allowing the career of the individual to be followed across several stages.

A very attractive and well-documented small grouping to a Panzerjäger soldier, with the combination of unit records, award documentation and postwar Allied paperwork making it considerably more interesting than a standalone award certificate.

Particularly interesting is his detailed Panzer crew training, including qualification as a Ladeschütze (loader) on Panzer III and Panzer IV, with the Wehrpass recording training and instruction on a wide range of German weapons and armoured equipment.

The grouping also includes an original portrait photograph of Josef Walter wearing Panzer uniform, still mounted in the Wehrpass.

WWII Luftwaffe Flak Table Pennant / Tischfahne – Complete with Pole & Base (Copy)

€495,00

Offered here is an original WWII German Luftwaffe Flak Tischfahne (table pennant), a very attractive and highly decorative piece of Luftwaffe Flak memorabilia.

The pennant features the characteristic Luftwaffe eagle and Iron Cross design, with the red-and-white field and black detailing, finished with white fringe around the edges. The reverse carries the corresponding wartime design, making this a particularly attractive double-sided example.

The flag is mounted on its original-style wooden pole with ball finial and comes complete with a separate display base. The pole can be removed from the base, allowing the two components to be stored or transported separately. Size is approx. 14 x 14 cm

The textile shows genuine age and signs of use, including some wear to the fringe, stitching and surface, but remains very displayable. The photographs show the condition in detail.

Award Documents – Fallschirmschützenabzeichen & Verwundetenabzeichen – Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 1 (Italy)

€295,00

Excellent original WWII award document pair to Klaus Schröder, serving with II./Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 1.

  • Fallschirmschützenabzeichen – awarded 5 August 1942, Berlin.
  • Verwundetenabzeichen – awarded following a wounding sustained on 15 December 1943.
  • Unit clearly identified as II./Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 1.
  • The documents retain their original period handwriting, signatures and stamps.

The December 1943 wound places Schröder with FJR 1 during the fighting in the Orsogna–Ortona sector of the Italian Front. II./FJR 1 had been fighting around Melone and Orsogna in early December and was deployed into the Ortona/Orsogna battle area during the Allied offensive in mid-December. Contemporary campaign sources specifically document II./FJR 1 fighting around Melone and the Orsogna sector.

A very desirable Fallschirmjäger document grouping, particularly because both awards are named to the same individual and the unit is explicitly identified.

Condition: Original with age-related staining and handling marks, as shown.

Flak & Fallschirmjäger Grouping – Flak-Rgt. 4 & FJR 16/17 – 6. Fallschirmjäger-Division – Holland 1944-45!

€495,00

Rare original WWII grouping belonging to Obergefreiter Kurt Schürmann, a Luftwaffe Flak soldier who served with 4./Flak-Regiment 4 (mot.) and later with Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 16 & 17 of the 6. Fallschirm-Division.

The grouping contains his heavily used and extensively annotated Soldbuch, together with his Arbeitsbuch, original award certificates, photographs and additional personal documents.

Particularly interesting are the documented awards and wounds:

  • Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse, awarded 23 May 1944
  • Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber
  • Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold, awarded 5 March 1945 – only 1/2 half of the document!

The award certificate for the EK II additionally identifies him as Obergefreiter Kurt Schürmann, 4./Flak-Regt. 4, with the 17. Flak-Division represented on the document. The 17. Flak-Division operated extensively on the Eastern Front; archival material specifically documents the employment of Flak-Regiment 4 under the division in 1942. Subsequently shows transfers into the Fallschirmjäger, including Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 16 and Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 17 of the 6. Fallschirmjäger-Division.

Particularly interesting is the later combat service in January 1945, when the 6. Fallschirmjäger-Division was deployed on the Waal–Maas front in the Netherlands. The Soldbuch contains entries associated with his Fallschirmjäger service and a January 1945 wound, followed by extensive medical/lazaret documentation. The division remained in this area until the major Allied offensive in February 1945

The grouping has clearly seen heavy wartime use, with extensive original repairs using period tape, tears, creasing, staining and general wear. Importantly, this is part of the historical character of the grouping and the documents have not been restored.

Condition: Poor/fair overall, but exceptionally interesting as an untouched and heavily used grouping. There seems to be a page added into the Soldbuch (double unit page – which seems not to match him?!)

Rare Fallschirmjäger Grouping – Afrika, Normandy, Operation Market Garden & Lower Rhine – Regiment Barenthin & Fallschirm-Werfer-Abt. 21 (!)

€995,00

Exceptional original WWII grouping belonging to Georg Feige, born 16 February 1924, documenting an extensive wartime career with German Fallschirmjäger formations.

The centerpiece is his heavily used original Luftwaffe Soldbuch, accompanied by original award documents, medical documentation, photographs, personal papers and postwar identification material. The Soldbuch documents his service with Fallschirmjäger and Fallschirm-Artillerie formations, including Regiment “Barenthin”, 14./Fallschirm-Artillerie-Regiment 1, followed later by service with the Fallschirm-Werfer-Abteilung 1.

Particularly interesting are the following documented elements:

  • Afrika-Armband, awarded 14 August 1943 at the headquarters of the Oberbefehlshaber Süd.
  • Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse, awarded 30 October 1943, while serving with 14./Fallschirm-Artillerie-Regiment 1.
  • Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz, following a wound sustained on 28 March 1943.
  • Medical documentation showing treatment and evacuation through military hospitals in Italy, including Kriegs-Lazarett Neapel.
  • Later service with the Fallschirm-Werfer-Abteilung 21, an uncommon Fallschirmjäger artillery/rocket-launcher formation.

Western Front service

His later service places him in some of the most important campaigns of the 1944 Western Front:

Normandy – 1944
The Fallschirm-Werfer-Abteilung 21 was committed in Normandy, including operations alongside the 116. Panzer-Division.

The Netherlands – Operation Market Garden – September 1944
The unit was subsequently employed in the Netherlands against the Allied airborne offensive. Contemporary unit-history material places Fallschirm-Werfer-Abteilung 21 in the Nijmegen/Kleve sector, directly connected with the German defensive operations against the Allied airborne forces during Operation Market Garden.

Lower Rhine – 1944/45
The unit subsequently remained within the German Fallschirmjäger command structure on the Western Front, making this grouping particularly interesting for collectors specializing in the Lower Rhine / Arnhem–Nijmegen campaign.

The combination of an original, heavily combat-used Soldbuch, multiple wartime awards, medical documentation, original photographs and personal papers — together with documented service in North Africa, Italy, Normandy and the Netherlands/Market Garden, and the rare Fallschirm-Werfer-Abteilung 21 — makes this a particularly substantial Fallschirmjäger grouping.

Condition: heavily used original Soldbuch with significant age and field wear, tears, staining and period repairs. Documents and photographs likewise show normal wartime handling and age-related wear.
