MEN OF STEEL – Michael Reynolds – I SS Panzer Corps – 12x Signed Waffen-SS Veterans (LAH, HJ…!)
€350,00Rare signed copy of Michael Reynolds’ “Men of Steel: I SS Panzer Corps – The Ardennes and Eastern Front 1944–45”, containing numerous original postwar signatures of veterans associated with the I. SS-Panzerkorps and its subordinate formations.
An exceptionally interesting collector’s copy of Michael Reynolds’ “Men of Steel”, a detailed history of the I. SS-Panzerkorps and its operations during the final campaigns of the Second World War, particularly the Ardennes Offensive and the fighting on the Eastern Front in 1944–45.
The book is the 1999 hardcover edition and is extensively signed by former German Waffen-SS personnel. Among the signatures is the clearly identifiable autograph of SS-Obergruppenführer Otto Kumm, Knight’s Cross holder with Oak Leaves and Swords and one of the senior commanders associated with the Waffen-SS formations covered by Reynolds’ work.
Additional original signatures appear throughout the opening pages, with a large number of names recorded on an accompanying handwritten identification note. The identified names include veterans associated with formations such as the 1. SS-Panzer-Division “Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler”, 7. SS-Freiwilligen-Gebirgs-Division “Prinz Eugen”, 12. SS-Panzer-Division “Hitlerjugend”, SS-Panzer-Abteilung 101/501 and other units connected with the I. SS-Panzerkorps.
- Otto Kumm, Ernst Kufner , Werner Pitsch, Heinrich Springer, Gerhard Stiller, Hans Siptrott, Gerhard Hein, Rudolf von Ribbentrop, Werner Wendt, Waldemar Warnecke, Horst Borgmüller, Johannes Höckel.
The accompanying identification note is particularly useful, recording names and unit associations for a number of the signatories. Several signatures are written directly onto the book’s opening pages, creating an interesting veteran-signed association copy rather than simply a commercially signed modern edition.
The book itself covers the formation and combat history of the I. SS-Panzerkorps, including the fighting of the 1. SS-Panzer-Division “Leibstandarte” and 12. SS-Panzer-Division “Hitlerjugend” during the Ardennes Offensive and the subsequent battles against Soviet forces in Hungary and on the Eastern Front. The 1999 edition is documented as a hardcover publication of Reynolds’ study.
Condition: The book shows normal signs of age and use, with some wear to the dust jacket and binding. The autograph pages have been annotated and marked with an accompanying identification note. Please examine all photographs carefully for the exact condition.
A highly unusual signed reference volume for collectors of Waffen-SS history, veteran autographs and the I. SS-Panzerkorps. The quantity of signatures is the principal attraction of this example.

The postcard-sized studio portrait shows Bollmann in Wehrmacht uniform wearing an impressive award bar, with the Iron Cross 1st Class clearly visible. A sharp and attractive period portrait with very good contrast and excellent display value.

Luftwaffe Soldbuch + Kennkarte & Wound Tag – WIA with Radfahr-MG-Bataillon 81 in 1945
€165,00A very attractive and complete original WWII Luftwaffe Soldbuch grouping belonging to Heinrich Rieffert, consisting of his original Soldbuch, Kennkarte, attached wartime portrait photograph, original Begleitzettel für Verwundete (Wounded Transport Tag), and additional accompanying wartime documents.
The Soldbuch was issued on 15 January 1940 by Luftwaffe Baukompanie 21/XII and follows the soldier throughout much of his wartime service. His military career is well documented through numerous entries, official unit stamps, equipment records, leave records, payment entries, and promotions.
Rieffert served with several Luftwaffe formations, including Luftwaffe Baukompanie 21/XII, Fliegerhorstkompanie 23/IV, Fliegerhorst-Kompanie E (V) 271/III, MG-Ausbildungs-Kompanie der Division Nr. 408 and ending with 1. Kompanie/ Radfahr-MG-Bataillon 81 (Maschinengewehr). His promotions are recorded from Gefreiter to K.O.A. (Kriegsoffizieranwärter) and finally Unteroffizier.
A particularly desirable feature is the included original Begleitzettel für Verwundete, dated 16 January 1945 at 07:45 hours. The casualty tag records that Rieffert suffered a grenade splinter wound to the right upper arm (Granatsplitterverletzung rechter Oberarm). The tag further notes his evacuation from the Verbandplatz at Kluhagen (?), although the exact place name is difficult to decipher due to the handwriting.
The Soldbuch also records his hospitalization at Marine-Lazarett Stralsund from 13 February 1945 to 28 March 1945.
Another highly desirable entry concerns the award of the Medaille “Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42” (Ostmedaille). The Soldbuch records the award on 18 December 1942, while a later red-ink entry notes that the award document and medal were physically presented on 5 October 1944 (“Urkunde u. Medaille am 5.10.44 ausgehändigt“). Such documented award entries significantly enhance the historical interest of the grouping.
The original wartime portrait photograph remains firmly attached inside the Soldbuch, and the grouping is accompanied by the soldier’s original Kennkarte, making this a particularly complete personal document set.

The Soldbuch was issued in 1940 and records Meyer’s military career within the Luftwaffe. During his service he advanced through the ranks from Gefreiter to Obergefreiter, eventually attaining the rank of Stabsgefreiter. The document contains numerous official unit stamps, equipment issue records, clothing inventories, vaccination records, leave entries, pay records and administrative annotations, providing an excellent insight into the military career of a Luftwaffe serviceman serving with Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur Reinschlen and Landesschützenzug 92/IV.
Particularly interesting is his final assignment to Luftwaffe-Infanterie-Bataillon 41 (Infanterie-Bataillon der Luftwaffe 41). This battalion was one of the emergency infantry formations created during the final phase of the war from surplus Luftwaffe personnel. Established in September 1944, the unit fought as ground infantry in the defence of Germany’s western frontier after serving in the Netherlands before being transferred to the Saar sector under Army Group G. As Germany’s military situation deteriorated, thousands of Luftwaffe personnel found themselves fighting as infantry rather than in their original air force roles.
The Soldbuch remains complete with its original attached portrait photograph and numerous wartime entries, making it an attractive and well-documented late-war Luftwaffe grouping.

Luftwaffe Soldbuch Fliegerhorstkommandantur Detmold & Münster + Transport Units in France (Paris)
€85,00An original and well-filled WWII German Luftwaffe Soldbuch issued to Heinrich Michels, born 6 July 1909 in Vynen, Kreis Moers. The Soldbuch retains its original portrait photograph and documents Michels’ military career from 1940 through the later years of the war. Despite honest field wear to the covers and spine, it remains a complete and historically interesting example with numerous wartime entries, unit changes, official stamps, leave records and medical notes.
The Soldbuch was issued on 14 June 1940 while serving with the Rekruten-Kompanie Handorf, Ausbildungs-Lager Schifffahrt. He entered service as a Flieger and was promoted to Gefreiter on 1 January 1941, followed by promotion to Obergefreiter on 1 July 1942.
During his service, Michels passed through several Luftwaffe formations in Germany and then France, including:
- Rekruten-Kompanie Handorf – Ausbildungs-Lager Schifffahrt
- Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur Detmold
- Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur Münster
- Flughafen-Betriebsstoff-Kolonne (mot.) 8/XII
- Transportkolonne der Luftwaffe (80 t) 138/XII
The Soldbuch contains extensive equipment issue pages, pay entries, leave records and numerous official unit stamps documenting his wartime service. Interesting to note that on 29 July 1944, he was still in Paris, France (“Der General der Luftwaffe Paris, Amtskasse“).
A particularly interesting entry records his hospitalization in France. On 8 November 1940 he was admitted to a Luftwaffe-Ortslazarett in Falaise suffering from shoulder inflammation (Schultergelenkentzündung) and remained hospitalized until 26 November 1940. A second hospitalization is recorded at the Ortslazarett Angers (Chirurgische Abteilung) in February 1943, where he was treated for a Blutergüss re. Unterschenkel before returning to duty.
The document also includes vaccination records, clothing issue tables, leave permissions, pay administration entries and multiple wartime endorsements, providing an excellent overview of the administrative life of a Luftwaffe serviceman.
The original portrait photograph remains attached, although it shows period wear and damage, matching the overall well-used character of the Soldbuch. The cover exhibits heavy service wear and losses along the spine, reflecting genuine wartime use rather than later handling.
A solid and affordable original Luftwaffe Soldbuch with portrait photograph, multiple unit transfers, documented hospitalization during the French campaign period, and extensive wartime entries—an attractive piece for collectors of Luftwaffe documents and German military paperwork.
Condition: Good, honest wartime-used condition with complete interior, numerous original entries and stamps, original photograph present, and expected wear to the covers and spine consistent with prolonged field use.

Equipment
The equipment pages remain remarkably complete and include the issue of numerous items, among them a Maschinenpistole (Machine Pistol) alongside other personal equipment and weapons.
Particularly Rare Feature
Perhaps the most desirable aspect of this grouping is that the Soldbuch has survived completely intact.
Many Soldbücher belonging to soldiers captured in Tunisia in May 1943 have had their unit pages, award pages or campaign entries deliberately removed, either by Allied authorities during captivity or by the soldiers themselves. Complete Afrika Soldbücher retaining these pages are encountered far less frequently on today’s market.
This example still preserves:
- Unit assignments
- Award entries
- Africa campaign entries
- Equipment pages
- Pay pages
- Administrative pages
making it a particularly scarce survivor.
The lot is accompanied by the soldier’s original Evangelisches Feldgesangbuch, carried during his military service.
Condition
Original wartime condition showing honest service wear. The Soldbuch exhibits heavy field use with worn covers and age-related handling but remains complete and fully legible throughout. The accompanying Feldgesangbuch is likewise in good used condition.

Groupings linking the Reichsfilmkammer, Reichsrundfunk, theatre employment, radio broadcasting, and official identification documents are seldom encountered together and provide remarkable insight into Germany’s wartime entertainment and broadcasting system.
A rare and highly displayable document grouping for collectors of Third Reich paperwork, Reichskulturkammer, Reichsrundfunk, German broadcasting, film history, and theatre memorabilia.
